About the studio

Engineering discipline applied to digital work.

Emerald Websites is a small, deliberate web and app development studio. We design, build and support conversion-focused websites, cross-platform apps and connected business systems for ambitious businesses across Australia and worldwide.

What we do

A studio, not an agency.

We build the marketing site, the mobile app, the booking system, the CRM and the integrations between them — and we keep them running once they're live. The studio is small by design: that's how we can be the people you brief, the people you talk to weekly, and the people who actually do the work.

We work in Webflow, WordPress and FlutterFlow, with the technical depth to handle marketplaces, MVPs, custom integrations and retained partnerships. We won't pitch you a platform that suits us; we'll pick the one that suits your project.

Australia-wide and worldwide. Async-first communication, predictable update cadence, scope-based pricing — built so the project doesn't live in your inbox.

Jesse Thomson.

Webflow Certified Expert and FlutterFlow developer with a science degree majoring in mathematics, and prior service as a Royal Australian Engineer in the Australian Army.

The Webflow Certified Expert credential is globally vetted — only a small fraction of Webflow builders earn it, and it signals the studio can be trusted with serious work at production scale. The FlutterFlow side covers the app stack: cross-platform iOS and Android from a single codebase, Firebase, REST integrations, App Store and Google Play deployment.

Engineering and mathematics shape how every project gets approached — structured, disciplined, and built to last. Military service shaped the operating style: direct communication, predictable execution, no jargon and no hidden fees.

How we work

A partnership, not a transaction.

We run the project so you can run the business. Weekly demos, async review on Loom and Notion, and a milestone structure where the next step is always clear.

  • 01

    Async-first

Most reviews happen over Loom. Calls are reserved for decisions that need a real conversation.

  • 02

    Predictable cadence

Weekly demos, weekly written updates. You never have to ask where the project is.

  • 03

    Scope-based pricing

We agree the scope, you get a fixed quote. Hourly billing creates incentives we don't want.

  • 04

    Real handover

Training, documentation, ownership of accounts. You should be able to leave any time.

  • 05

    Built to last

Choices we make today shouldn't trap you in two years. Long-term thinking on every decision.

  • 06

    Quiet confidence

We don't oversell. The work speaks first; we explain second only when it's useful.

Where we work

Emerald QLD as home base. Clients everywhere.

The studio operates from Emerald in Central Queensland — a regional grounding that informs the operating style but never the headline. Direct communication and no jargon come from that grounding; the work itself spans scale-ups in Sydney, SaaS founders in Melbourne, ecommerce operators in Brisbane and international clients across New Zealand, the UK and the US.

Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm AEST, with overlap windows for clients in NZ, Asia, Europe and North America. Async-first means time zones are a logistical detail, not a blocker.

For the full picture of how engagements run across time zones, see International clients.
